Visiting Crab Island

Crab Island is a sandbar located in the middle of the gulf. It is famous for having blue-green water which is popular with many locals and visitors to check it out. Since the only way to reach the area is by water, it is a good idea to take a Crab Island Shuttle. Taking a Crab Island Cruise in Destin, Florida, allows you to learn about the area while you sail to Crab Island in style. Our Crab Island tours allow you and the group to fully experience what Crab Island offers. With the weather being sunny, it is a good idea to make sure to bring sunscreen; make sure you apply it every few hours. An ice chest with your favorite drinks and snacks will also come in handy During this time of year, there are local vendors selling food that you can check out, so we recommend packing light with food, and utilizing your cooler space for your drinks, as Crab Island is BYOB.

Parasailing

Ascend into the Destin sky this August with a parasailing package! You will be able to take in the scenery in a new light. There is a two to three-person limit on each flight, so bring a friend or two August is the perfect time to go parasailing for many reasons. The first one is the crowds are beginning to lighten up, so when in the sky, people watching will be a lot clearer. The second is the memories you and your party will make with all the photos that are being taken throughout the journey. The third is when you are in the air, you are able to see all the marine life living in the gulf, which means you are able to see some dolphins from above!

Silent Disco Party

This August, why not go to a silent disco? It is a silent disco because when you arrive, you are handed headphones that are connected to the DJ. You get to pick which DJ’s music you want to jam out to. Each of the headphones will let you know what you are and what other people are listening to. Once the music is playing, put on your dancing shoes and put on a show. Something that is funny is if you decide to watch the silent disco from afar, it is just straight up silence. The only way you can hear music is if you pick up one of the headphones. The best part of this event is the whole thing is free! So make sure to stop by and have a silent disco party with your friends!

Harbor Street Parade

The HarborWalk Village has another event happening this August, the Harbor Street Parade. If you have ever been to or heard of Mardi Gras, this is similar to what it is. Beads are thrown out as floats pass by. Along with the parade, live music from the band Fais Do Do can be enjoyed on the main stage. By the end of the night there is a fire spinning show on the main stage to end the celebration. You can also sign up for a fee to ride on one of the floats in the parade. People also do this to promote their businesses since it is a big turnout every time.

Bubbly Baytowne

It is Five O’Clock somewhere, and on August 15th, at 5 p.m., the Bubbly Baytowne event happens. This event takes place at The Village of Baytowne Wharf through the Village streets. As long as you are over the age of 21, you are good to go. Once you enter the streets, you get free champagne while you shop during the event. After you and your party check in and get a wristband, make sure to grab your complimentary Baytowne Wharf glass! Once you get your glass, you will follow the map to sip and shop throughout the night. Every time you enter a different shop you can get your glass refilled. Another great thing is this event is also free! We all love doing stuff for free, so make sure to check out the Bubbly Baytowne on August 15th!
